WDK Joins Extra Life to Support SickKids VS — Because Every Minute Matters

At Website Design Kingston (WDK), we’re passionate about building websites — but we’re even more passionate about building hope. That’s why we’re proud to be taking part in Extra Life, a gaming marathon that raises funds for children’s hospitals across North America. This year, we’re dedicating our efforts to support the SickKids VS program, a bold initiative by SickKids Hospital in Toronto that’s fighting the biggest battles in child health.

Every minute, 72 children are treated at a member hospital of the Children’s Miracle Network — that’s more than one child every second. Over the course of a year, these hospitals provide 38 million patient visits to 12 million children, including:

  • 12,721 emergency visits
  • 1,890 treatments for children with diabetes
  • 1,719 children receiving cancer care
  • 814 newborns cared for in the NICU

These numbers represent real families, real struggles, and real hope — and we want to be part of the solution.

How We’re Helping

Our team at WDK will be gaming, streaming, and fundraising throughout the Extra Life event to raise money for SickKids VS. It’s more than just play — it’s purpose. Every dollar raised helps fund life-saving research, cutting-edge treatments, and compassionate care for kids who need it most.

“Many families in Kingston rely on SickKids for specialized pediatric care — from emergency services to life-saving treatments. By supporting SickKids VS through Extra Life, we’re helping ensure those children continue to receive world-class care when they need it most.”
